Client Accountant

Role overview

The client is a Mauritius-based fiduciary and corporate services provider, administering global business companies, trusts and other corporate structures for an international client base.

The Client Accountant prepares accounts and financial statements for client entities, coordinates audits and regulatory filings, and manages the bookkeeping and tax submissions that keep those entities compliant. The role offers an opportunity to develop a career within the financial services industry with exposure to a varied portfolio of client structures.

The practice is open to motivated graduates as well as candidates with one to two years’ experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accounts and financial statements.
• Coordinate audits and regulatory filings.
• Submit VAT, PAYE, TDS and other tax returns.
• Manage bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting operations.
• Liaise with clients, auditors and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Minimum requirements

• A degree in Accounting or Finance, or ACCA or ACA (or an equivalent qualification).
• One to two years’ experience, or a motivated fresh graduate.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• An organised, proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
• Mauritian citizenship and residence in Mauritius, as required for the role.

Preferred qualifications

• Prior experience in the global business or fiduciary sector.
• Exposure to IFRS reporting for multiple client entities.

Skills and competencies

• Accurate preparation of accounts and financial statements under IFRS.
• Confident handling of VAT, PAYE and TDS submissions.
• Disciplined bookkeeping across a portfolio of entities.
• Clear communication with clients, auditors and service providers.

Remuneration and working arrangements

MUR 30,000 to MUR 40,000 gross per month, based on experience. Permanent, full-time appointment based in Ebène, Mauritius. Candidates must be Mauritian citizens and resident in Mauritius.
