Role overview
Concept Lynwood BlueStar is an established financial-advisory practice based in Pretoria East, operating within the Sanlam BlueStar environment. The practice is seeking established Financial Advisers to expand its adviser presence across Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand and surrounding Gauteng areas.
The successful adviser will develop and manage a sustainable client portfolio, provide holistic financial advice, and maintain long-term relationships with individuals, families, professionals and business owners.
This is not an entry-level opportunity. The practice is focused on Tier 3 advisers — experienced professionals with at least five years’ relevant industry experience and a proven earnings or production history of approximately R350,000 or more per annum. The ideal candidate brings an existing network, recurring client relationships, strong prospecting capability or a transferable client base.
Key responsibilities
- Provide holistic financial-planning advice across risk, investment, retirement and estate-planning needs.
- Conduct detailed financial-needs analyses and prepare Records of Advice and supporting documentation.
- Build a sustainable pipeline through referrals, networking and relationships with accountants, attorneys and other centres of influence.
- Advise on life, disability, severe illness and income-protection cover, and assist business owners with key-person cover and buy-and-sell arrangements.
- Advise on retirement annuities, preservation funds, living annuities and discretionary investments, and conduct ongoing portfolio and retirement-plan reviews.
- Identify estate-planning needs including liquidity, estate duty, beneficiary nominations and succession risk.
- Develop relationships within professional, corporate, family and business-owner markets.
- Conduct regular client reviews, maintain proactive communication and protect client retention.
- Comply with FAIS, FICA, POPIA and TCF requirements and maintain audit-ready client files.
- Participate in practice meetings, training and development, working collaboratively with administration and paraplanning teams.
Minimum requirements
- Minimum of five years’ relevant experience as a Financial Adviser, Financial Planner, Wealth Adviser or Broker.
- Proven historical annual earnings or production of approximately R350,000 or more.
- Demonstrated ability to source, conclude and retain financial-services business.
- RE5 completed and a relevant recognised financial-services qualification.
- FAIS fit-and-proper and in good regulatory standing, with appropriate Class of Business training and evidence of CPD compliance.
- Strong understanding of risk, investment, retirement and estate-planning principles.
- Based in, or able to service, Pretoria, Centurion, Midrand and surrounding Gauteng areas.
- Own reliable transport and a valid driver’s licence.
Preferred qualifications
- Existing active client relationships or a transferable client portfolio.
- Established professional or referral network.
- NQF Level 5 or higher qualification in Wealth Management or Financial Planning.
- Experience within a BlueStar, tied-agency, independent brokerage or bank-advice environment.
- Exposure to high-net-worth clients, professionals or business owners.
- Existing recurring commission or recurring investment revenue, with a strong persistency record.
- Experience mentoring junior advisers or leading a small team.
Skills and competencies
- Financial-planning and advisory capability with strong prospecting and networking ability.
- Client relationship management and retention.
- Commercial awareness, negotiation and closing ability.
- Ethical judgement and compliance discipline.
- Resilience, self-motivation and a long-term practice-building mindset.
Personal attributes
Commercially driven but strongly advice-led, with sound regulatory discipline, professional credibility and a genuine commitment to appropriate client outcomes.
Any transition of existing clients or business remains subject to contractual restrictions, client consent, compliance approval and applicable regulatory requirements.
