Role overview

The client is an established financial planning practice based in Noordheuwel, Krugersdorp. It is led by a Senior Financial Planner holding CFP® and CA(SA) credentials, with strong technical, accounting, audit and financial planning experience.

The Financial Adviser will build and service a client base through compliant, needs-based financial advice. The role suits a candidate with at least two years of industry experience who already understands financial planning, client acquisition, advice documentation and regulatory expectations.

The client is specifically looking for an adviser with a long-term mindset. This is not intended for a candidate who moves frequently between firms or views financial advice as a short-term role.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Financial Needs Analyses covering each client’s personal, family and business circumstances.
• Provide advice across risk planning, life cover, disability cover, severe illness, income protection, retirement planning and investment-related solutions.
• Help clients identify short-, medium- and long-term goals and recommend strategies aligned to their needs and affordability.
• Prepare and present compliant recommendations, ensuring clients understand product suitability, benefits, risks, costs and replacement implications.
• Source new clients through networking, referrals, prospecting and relationship-building, and build a sustainable pipeline.
• Provide ongoing client servicing, reviews and policy maintenance, supporting clients through life-stage changes and claims.
• Maintain Records of Advice, disclosures, needs analyses and replacement advice records so files are accurate and audit-ready.
• Follow all practice and product-provider processes relating to advice, product selection, client onboarding and compliance checks.
• Handle client information in line with POPIA and confidentiality requirements.

Minimum requirements

• Minimum two years’ experience in the financial services industry, ideally as a Financial Adviser or in a directly related advisory role.
• RE5 completed.
• Relevant financial services qualification preferred, such as NQF Level 5 Wealth Management or an equivalent financial planning qualification.
• Strong understanding of financial advice, client needs analysis and financial product solutions.
• Proven ability or clear potential to source, build and manage client relationships.
• Stable career history and a genuine long-term interest in financial planning.
• Ability to work in a production-driven environment while maintaining compliance and advice quality.

Preferred qualifications

• Two to four years’ experience with a clear commitment to building a long-term advisory career.
• Existing exposure to risk, life planning, investments, wealth planning or holistic financial advice.
• Coachable and comfortable working within a structured advice framework.
• Strong client acquisition mindset built on referrals, networking and consistent activity.
