Role overview

DK Motiram Financial Advisors CC forms part of the broader D.K. Motiram & Co. professional services environment, which includes registered auditors and chartered accountants based in Mayfair, Johannesburg.

The business is appointing an experienced Financial Adviser to join the practice and contribute to the long-term growth of its financial advisory offering. The successful candidate will provide professional advisory services, develop client relationships and support business development within the practice.

An existing book of business is not required for this position. The role suits a motivated, relationship-driven adviser with strong industry experience and the ambition to grow within the business over the long term.

Key responsibilities

• Provide financial advice and solutions to new and existing clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Identify client needs and recommend suitable financial products or solutions.
• Support business development and client acquisition initiatives.
• Conduct client reviews and ensure ongoing service delivery.
• Work closely with the internal team to support the growth of the advisory practice.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial-services regulations and internal processes.

Minimum requirements

• Minimum of five years’ experience within the financial services industry.
• Previous experience as a Financial Adviser or in a similar advisory or client-facing role.
• Strong client relationship management skills and proven business development ability.
• Good understanding of financial products, advisory processes and client servicing.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ethical, compliant and client-focused approach.
• A long-term career mindset and willingness to grow with the practice.

Preferred qualifications

• RE5 qualification.
• Relevant FAIS credits or a recognised financial-planning qualification.
• CFP® qualification, or progress toward CFP®.
• Experience dealing with individual and business clients.
• Existing network within the financial services or professional services market.
• Experience within an accounting, auditing, tax or professional advisory environment.
