Role overview
The client develops, owns and operates renewable-energy assets across South Africa, with a primary focus on commercial and industrial solar PV and battery-energy storage systems. The business delivers clean, reliable decentralised power solutions that help companies reduce costs, improve energy resilience and meet their sustainability objectives.
ACG Growth Partners™ is recruiting a Fund Administrator on behalf of this business. The appointment will own the operational backbone of the capital raise and work directly alongside the Chief Financial Officer on its execution.
The Fund Administrator is the central coordination point for the raise — the person who keeps investors, distributors and compliance workflows moving in step, and who ensures nothing falls between the cracks. The role combines precise back-office processing with confident, client-facing coordination, and offers material scope to grow alongside the raise and the Chief Financial Officer’s mandate.
Key responsibilities
Raise execution and coordination
- Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the business development team on day-to-day execution of the raise, keeping every moving part synchronised.
- Surface what needs attention before it becomes urgent.
- Track workflow across investors, distributors and advisers, holding the master view of status and next actions.
- Coordinate diaries and deadlines across the Chief Financial Officer, distribution partners and counterparties.
Investor onboarding and administration
- Process subscriptions and onboarding documentation from receipt through to execution.
- Run AML and KYC verification on every investor and connected party, escalating exceptions.
- Maintain complete, audit-ready investor files and an accurate investor register.
Client and distributor liaison
- Act as the first point of contact for investor and distributor queries, with confidence and professionalism on the telephone and in writing.
- Set up and coordinate meetings between distributors and independent financial advisers, managing invitations, scheduling and follow-up so that distributors attend prepared.
- Follow incomplete applications through to close-out.
Client support
- Support clients in assembling and preparing their tax documentation. This is administrative support only, with substantive queries escalated in line with the agreed protocol.
- Support the distribution of statements, confirmations and tax certificates.
Records and controls
- Apply the onboarding checklist and control framework to every file.
- Maintain records to regulatory standards and support audit requests.
- Keep document version control across the subscription pack and supporting templates.
Minimum requirements
- Four or more years of back-office, fund administration or investor operations experience within financial services.
- Working knowledge of AML and KYC onboarding.
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with distributor and independent financial adviser channel operations.
- Experience supporting a senior executive.
Skills and competencies
- An excellent telephone manner and client-facing confidence, including with high-net-worth investors and intermediaries.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to hold many threads at once without losing detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, and comfort working with CRM and document management systems.
- Clear, professional written communication.
Personal attributes
The successful candidate will be methodical and unusually reliable, comfortable holding the master view of a live capital raise while a number of parties depend on it. They will be confident dealing directly with investors and intermediaries, disciplined about records and controls, and inclined to raise an issue early rather than let it become urgent.
Who this suits
This role will suit a fund administration or investor operations professional who wants ownership rather than a narrow processing brief, and who is looking for scope to grow as the raise and the Chief Financial Officer’s mandate expand.
